In my view, anything can be a signature. A signature is the title given to a piece of art or text that is placed after your post. It is not a style of art, nor does it have any specifications as to what it needs to be. Hell, even a wallpaper could be considered a signature if you put it after your post.

All you idiots saying it isn't a signature because it isn't a small banner in the exact size you normally see with a render and effects are fucking stupid.

What are you talking about? A signature is a graphic is placed in the signature of the person that made it/it is gifted to, on a forum. Nothing to do with who the person is or whatever.

Any person may feel that any concept represents them, therefore, anything can be a signature.

exactly. what you have on the "signature frame" is a quotation, I have one in my "signature frame" too.

in my point of view Graphic Design is all about communication through Graphics. The better you show your concept to the ppl through your design the better your work is. for signatures, it should be represented in your design the concept " this is me " as the concept or part of it. if its not there I just cant consider it a signature.

Going to have to disagree with you, Gogodr.
Anything that's inside of your 'Signature Frame' is your signature. That quote in there is part of your signature.
xV's lines of text is his signature.
Your signature is not necessarily a piece of art; it's a spot to put things. Anything that's put inside becomes your signature.

I'll clarify again how I put a very big space in between Art and Graphic Design.
anyways, I don't want to make a big polemic drama in this thread, I personally think this maybe should have been posted in General Discussion's sub forum.
if we agree or not its ok, I'm not going to change my mind without a valid reason or at least one that I can consider valid neither I'll force you to change your mind. I'm just displaying my interpretation of what a signature should be.

That's fine; this is a discussion thread anyways.
As for GD; I thought that Art might fit this topic more than GD, due to the high number of arguments breaking out in threads regarding what is or is not a signature.
