Alright, so there are a few basics to hacking Flash games. If the coder straight codes the variables (they don't use any tricks of their own.. they rarely EVER use tricks of their own.), then Flash impliments it's own methods to ward off hackers.
Us hackers already know their tricks.
First, you'll (of course) need our beloved tool, Cheat Engine. Upon opening your game, you attach it to whatever it's opened in (Either a browser or a special executable made for opening flash games, it won't matter here)
Depending on the game, you may or may not be able to use Flash 7 for ease. I'll explain:
With Flash 7 games, you simple need search in Double (as opposed to the stander 4-byte). Very simple Just switch from 4-byte to Double in the scanner's drop down menu.
Not all games will allow anything below Flash 8/9 ! (9 is the current version of Flash) A good example of this is DragonFable, which we have a subforum for.
In Flash 8 and Flash 9, you get to go back to 4-byte scanning! However, there is a catch: You have to multiply all values by 8 ! :'( So if your Health was 100, and you were searching for it, then you'd search 800 in 4-byte. If it was then moved down to 50, and you're trying to narrow down the addresses in your results so you can find the actual Health variable, then you'd search 400. Then, when editting your Health to, say, 1337, you'd have to change the value to 1337*8 and freeze it (which is 10696)
Few tips: If you can't find anything in Flash 9, downgrade to Flash 7 and try searching in Double just to make sure there was no error. Same goes with Flash 7 -> Flash 9 for Double notation mishaps.
Feel free to post your findings or requests for help after attempting the said above, but remember to post a link! The games that are large enough for us to know how to get to immediately from a name already have subforums throughout the Site.
